Madeline and Dylan are high school sweethearts. They went from teenagers to college graduates, and now, newlyweds. Recently moving back to Virginia, their home state, and ready to start the next chapter together. Their June wedding at the Virginia Cliffe Inn, just outside of Richmond Virginia, was the kind of day that just works. The sun was out, the laughs were real, and the dance floor got a serious workout. What made this wedding stand out was the people. Every single guest mattered to Madeline and Dylan. You could feel it. You could see it, each person there had a story to tell and a reason to be in that room. The ceremony was personal and heartfelt. They shared real moments from their story as they stood in front of everyone they love and said the sweetest I do’s. Afterward Dylan scooped Madeline up like a fairytale prince and carried her away.

Madeline and Dylan did something different with their video memories. They bought a Camp Snap Super 8 camera, and used it to document their whole weekend. By the end of the weekend, they already had film-filtered videos ready to share with friends and family. No editing app. No waiting weeks. Just warm, grainy, beautiful footage that felt like it came straight from another era. It was one of the most unique things I’ve seen a couple do on their wedding day. Honestly, I won’t forget it.

The Virginia Cliffe Inn is a stunning spot for your wedding day. The property has so much to work with. Think lush greenery, open light, and classic architecture that photographs beautifully any time of day.
The setting does a lot of the work, and it lets the couple just be themselves, while having built-in wow factor for your guests.

If you’re planning a wedding at the Virginia Cliffe Inn and want great wedding photos, here’s what to keep in mind.

The light in the late afternoon at the Virginia Cliffe Inn is gorgeous. Sunset portraits might just be your favorite of the day. The best part, is that you don’t even have to step away for long with everything being in walking space, so you can get back to your guests and the celebration.
Weddings run behind. Hair and makeup take longer than expected. It happens. Build in buffer time early on for HMUA, getting ready, the ceremony, and portraits. Your planner and photographer should always know how to build these in, and work hard to keep you calm day of.
The Virginia Cliffe Inn has a cozy, intimate feel, while still having the ability to host a large guest list. However in the chance of rainy day back plans, the capacity of the guest count could change.
